Well, I received a very nice email earlier this morning from the Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce and am very pleased or rather Stoked to announce that I’ve been nominated for a Black Tie Award in the Customer Service category ! They just made my day :)

About the18th Annual Black Tie Awards
Black Tie 2014 marks the 18th annual Black Tie Awards recognizing excellence in business and volunteerism. Nominations open December 1, and will be accepted until January 31, 2014. The Awards banquet and Auction take place April 5, 2014.
The Black Tie Awards are community event and the public is invited to nominate a business or individual who meets the criteria for the applicable category. Both Chamber members and non-members are eligible to be nominated.
Black Tie Award Categories/Criteria
Customer Service nominees are recognized for demonstrating excellence in customer service, going above and beyond the call of duty, always ready and willing to help with a smile. This year the Customer Service Award is sponsored by Cardino Shoes
Volunteer of the Year: Giving extraordinary help or care to individuals, families, non-profit or charitable groups, community service or humanitarian causes.
The Young Entrepreneur Award: presented to a business owner under the age of 40 who started a business within the last three years, demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit and whose business has excellent prospects for continued growth.
Business Achievement Finalists are recognized for operating a successful business and demonstrating initiative, community involvement, sound business management, creativity and consistent growth. This award is presented according to the size of the company: Business Achievement 1 – 10 Employees, Business Achievement 11 – 19 Employees, Business Achievement 20+ Employees. Hayes Stewart Little is sponsoring Business Achievement for businesses with 20 or more employees.
Green Award: The Green Business Award Finalists are recognized for their success in operating a business that implements environmentally sustainable practices; demonstrating leadership in lessening impact on the environment by reducing, solving or avoiding environmental issues.
The Art in Business Award recognizes an individual who has developed a successful, growing business creating and selling their art, and who demonstrates sound management, leadership, and community commitment.
